A 57-year-old woman without antecedents of interest and subjected to estrogen therapy, presented with a black stain on the gums that had been present for approximately one year, and which she associated with endodontic treatment of tooth 2.5.
Intraoral exploration revealed two grayish lesions measuring 2 and 4 mm in diameter in the vestibular gingival region of 2.5 (Fig.1) and a black, ulcerated and painful lesion about 10 mm in diameter, in the palatal gingival zone of tooth 26 (Fig.2).
Complementary studies comprised orthopantomography, which revealed no significant alterations, and a biopsy (Fig.3, Fig.4, Fig.5, Fig.6, Fig.7).
