Case 3_2005 Exophytic mass

A 39 years old man, non-smoker with medical history of hypertension, hypercholesterolemy and dilated myocardiopathy.

Surgical background of hearth transplant, treated with immunosuppressive therapy since then.

He is referred for a painful gingival tumor of three months of evolution.

Intraoral examination shows an exophytic mass in the right maxillary gingiva
which spreads from 11 to 14 teeth (Fig.1) and with palate swelling (Fig.2).

 

The gingiva presents a slight erythema, without ulceration above.

 

We ask for a panoramic radiograph (Fig.3), a CT scan (Fig.4) and a biopsy
(Fig.5, Fig.6, Fig.7, Fig.8)
.
