A 25-year-old male smoker of 20 cigarettes/day presented with a lump in the lower right chin region for the previous month and a half (Fig. 1).
Following brief improvement with antibiotic treatment, the lesion had gradually reappeared. It was of a hard and elastic consistency.
The patient presented extensive caries of 46. Orthopantomography revealed a periapical radiotransparency affecting the same tooth. The latter was extracted, though one week later lesion growth persisted (Fig.2).
Laboratory tests, magnetic resonance imaging (Fig. 3, Fig.4) and a biopsy were requested (Fig. 5, Fig.6., Fig.7, Fig.8).
